Sharing the Joy of Christmas

Each year, our Angel Tree Ministry brings hope, dignity, and Christmas joy to local families who might otherwise go without. What begins as a simple wish on a paper tag becomes a powerful reminder that our parish community sees, loves, and supports those facing hardship.

We begin our work in September, reaching out to local schools and community organizations to learn the needs of children, families, and adults who would benefit from Christmas assistance. Over the following months, parishioners select Angel Tree tags and generously donate gifts that help make Christmas brighter for our neighbors.

About two weeks before Christmas, all donated gifts are organized and prepared for pickup. One of the most joyful moments of the ministry happens during our parish “wrap night,” when parish members—children included—come together to wrap gifts, ensure each wish is fulfilled, and assemble the gift bags. It all happens in a single, lively evening filled with cookies, coffee, laughter, and community spirit.

Behind the scenes, our dedicated committee coordinates every step of this beautiful outreach:

  • Anne McDonnell — mcdonnellanna5@gmail.com
  • Kathy Harris — rdgteacher1969@aol.com
  • Barbara Bessinger — barbbeeqb@yahoo.com

If you feel called to be part of a ministry that brings real joy and relief to local families, we warmly invite you to join us. Your help—whether wrapping gifts, organizing donations, or assisting with outreach—makes a meaningful difference in someone’s Christmas.
